Sports and Leisure Support Manager

Our Catering Department manages one of the largest and most diverse catering operations in Hong Kong. We provide a wide range of catering, sports and recreation facilities for Members and their guests in three Clubhouses. In addition, both Happy Valley and Sha Tin Racecourses have numerous catering facilities used by Members, non-members and corporate organisations for a variety of functions.
- Assist the Sports and Leisure Manager on Sports and Recreation business planning, venue and equipment, staff training and program development
- Assist the Sports and Leisure Manager in leading, supervising and motivating all full-time and part-time staff to ensure business and customer service objectives and targets are achieved consistently
- Manage and maintain all facilities to best-in-class standards to deliver excellent customer journey experience. Source, organise and supervise wellness, sports and recreation programs that cater for Members’ interests
- Build strong rapport with Members and handle complaints related to the Sports & Leisure team
- Conduct research and analyse statistics on programs and facilities usage to make recommendations for continuous improvements and development
- Ensure that the operation within areas of responsibilities complies with the Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) requirements and all staff are well trained and perform according to the new SOP requirements and standards. Recommend SOP changes and maintenance, if necessary
- Implement preventive and remedial measures to safeguard safety of Members and guests, in accordance with Club guidelines
- Assist Sports & Leisure Manager in managing the department's budget and marketing plan to ensure revenue, cost and participation targets are met
- Draft rosters for all recreation staff and highlight irregularities to supervisor.
- Manage the Club's official sports teams
- A university degree in Recreation Management or related disciplines
- 5 years’ relevant experience in luxury hotel, clubhouse or up-scale fitness centres, of which 3 years in supervisory role
- Excellent service and interpersonal skills
- Strong in leadership skills to drive for continuous improvement in service and business performance
- Relevant training in health / fitness management, physical education and recreation management
- Certification in professional qualification of ACSM, AFAA, NASM, ISSA or ACE is a strong plus
- Fluency in both written and spoken English
- The Hilltop in the Valley – New Clubhouse (Happy Valley)
