Prince of Wales’s Stakes Results
AUGUSTE RODIN has been called plenty of names after a few disappointing efforts over the past year or so, but he landed his sixth G1 in Ascot’s Prince of Wales’s Stakes, holding off the late challenge of ZARAKEM and HORIZON DORE.
His victory gave trainer Aidan O’Brien his 400th worldwide G1 on the Flat and Ryan Moore his 81st Royal Ascot winner, drawing him level with Frankie Dettori.
AUGUSTE RODIN claimed last year’s English and Irish Derbies before taking out the Irish Champion Stakes and Breeders’ Cup Turf. He showed guts and determination to see off the French challenge up the Ascot straight and you’d imagine races like the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, International Stakes and Irish Champion Stakes will now be considered. O’Brien also has a certain CITY OF TROY to think about, though!
