Developed into a top-class stayer during the 2022 season, winning the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot and the Goodwood Cup before adding further G1 success at the Curragh and ParisLongchamp with victory in the latter race coming by a stunning 20 lengths. Suffered an injury that might have been career ending but nursed back to health by his connections and regained his Royal Ascot crown in June in typically tough fashion and will now look to do the same at Goodwood.

Beaten just under five lengths behind KYPRIOS in the 2022 renewal of the Goodwood Cup in his breakthrough season as a top-class stayer during which he won the G2 Doncaster Cup (from TRUESHAN) in September. Has added further G2 and G3 wins to his tally but generally found wanting at the top table, including when third in this race last year and fifth to KYPRIOS at Royal Ascot in June.

Made rapid strides in 2023 from winning his racecourse debut at the end of April to landing the G3 Queen’s Vase at Royal Ascot on just his third outing in June. Returned from a short break to finish fourth in a recognised St Leger trail and fifth in the Classic itself. Returned to action in 2024 with a slightly disappointing run in the Yorkshire Cup and ran a long way below form when only seventh in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot. Something to prove after that but remains a relatively unexposed and talented stayer.

Progressed in staying handicaps in 2023 before stepping up to Pattern company in the G2 Doncaster Cup, finishing second to TRUESHAN. Returned to action with a close third behind COLTRANE in the G3 at Ascot before winning at Sandown. Maintained his good form with a fine third in the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot but was six lengths behind KYPRIOS there so has further improvement to find in order to bridge the gap.

Popular stayer who needs soft ground in order to be able to show his best and has missed several engagements when conditions have been deemed too fast. Won the Goodwood Cup in 2021 and was only beaten a length and a half into third behind KYPRIOS in 2022. Hasn’t contested this race since and has been behind some of his potential rivals this season but gained a confidence-boosting win at Sandown in Listed company last time and could yet roll back the years if the ground is in his favour.
