ROCKING ENDS belied his market position to run a big race under Vincent Ho in the Coral Racing Club Handicap over 1000m at the Goodwood Festival.

The 4YO was among the outsiders in the 13 runner field although DEMOCRACY DILEMMA was taken out at the start and favourite FAIR WIND did load but refused to exit the barriers when the gates opened.

There were no such concerns for Ho with ROCKING ENDS jumping well and tracking the early pace towards the stands’ side rail and it was only in the final 200m that his challenge petered out as TATTERSTALL and MISS ATTITUDE pulled away.

TATTERSTALL was declared the winner by a nose after a photo finish and there were a further two and a half lengths back to ROCKING ENDS in third.

Earlier LOYAL TOUCH and Ho could only finish twelfth of the 17 runners in the opening Chesterfield Cup Handicap.
