The only weight-for-age major run over this distance in Australia is the 2400m G1 Tancred Stakes and through history, some of the all-time great clashes have brought Rosehill to a standstill.

This year’s Tancred Stakes does not have those highlight horses in it but it will be a really competitive race with new blood entered.

There is a Derby Stakes winner in SERPENTINE, 3YO TOM KITTEN who may back up from the Rosehill Guineas and a series of stayers specifically trained to tackle this race coming off fast run races.

Tack on the prospect of William Haggas’ POST IMPRESSIONIST who just won on 23 Mar and was so impressive over this course and distance.
