MR BRIGHTSIDE fights for the first winner in 2000m in the Australian Cup

Traditionally a brilliant contest, it has seen some incredible finishes and celebrated moments such as the wins of BONECRUSHER, OCTAGONAL, LONHRO and DANDY ANDY in a monumental upset.
With the Nominations only released the week before race time, you get the likely indication of who intends to start as MR BRIGHTSIDE will be chasing his first win at the 2000m despite missing ROMANTIC WARRIOR by a nose in a legendary Cox Plate last year.
He will have stiff competition from Champions Stakes winner ATISHU who scored over this course and distance in the Spring. Last year’s winner CASCADIAN should be back as well to defend the title.
And of course MR BRIGHTSIDE’s nemesis from the Kennedy Champions Mile and All-Star Mile PRIDE OF JENNI is set to try it again with her front-running tactics that have shown her to success in recent outings.
