The G1 Yorkshire Oaks is the highlight for Day 2 of York’s Ebor Festival. Originally restricted to 3YO fillies upon its first running in 1849, the Yorkshire Oaks was recognised as G1 once the current grading system was introduced in 1971. Then further allowing older fillies and mares to join in 1991, the mile and a half contest is now a key battle between the classic generation and their older counterparts. Many luminaries such as DAR RE MI, THE FUGUE, ENABLE and ALPINISTA contributed to the illustrious roll of honour.
