King George Stakes (2 Aug 2024)

• Popular sprinter BATTAASH made Goodwood a regular stopping point en route to York and he won both the King George Stakes and Nunthorpe Stakes in 2019 and 2020.


• Australian sprinter ORTENSIA won both races in 2012 and HIGHFIELD PRINCESS came up just short in attempting to complete the same double last year.


• Leading Goodwood contenders BIG EVS, BELIEVING and Australian sprinter ASFOORA are all entered up at York as the King George looks set to be influential once again.

King Charles III Stakes (18 Jun 2024)

• Formerly known as the King’s Stand Stakes, the Royal Ascot race is the only domestic G1 over the minimum trip prior to the Nunthorpe and runners regularly contest both races.


• SOLE POWER (2014) and BATTAASH (2019) won both races while American sprinter LADY AURELIA (2017) failed by just a nose while Bradsell was a close third at York last year.


• Australian sprinter ASFOORA won at Royal Ascot and the four horses that followed her home are all engaged at York.

Temple Stakes (25 May 2024)

• The G2 provides an opportunity for both the established and new guard sprinters to have a first run of the season before the mid-summer targets.


• BATTAASH won at Haydock and York in 2019 and LIVE IN THE DREAM completed the same double in 2023. The Temple Stakes wasn’t run in 2020 meaning two of the last four winners have gone on to win the Nunthorpe.


• LIVE IN THE DREAM had to settle for second to KERDOS this year, with ASFOORA in fourth, and all three horses are on track for York ensuring the Temple Stakes could again be a significant prep race.
