• Only one recent winner has also won the Sussex Stakes and that was BAAEED who, at the time, was unbeaten in 10 career starts.


• During his career BAAEED drew comparisons with FRANKEL who also both won races in 2012.

• Four recent winners have run in the Eclipse Stakes with three winning – GHAIYYATH, ROARING LION and ULYSSES – while the globetrotting MISHRIFF finished second.

• This year’s Eclipse Stakes was won by the brilliant Derby Stakes winner CITY OF TROY.

Prince Of Wales’s Stakes (20 Jun 2024)

• When MOSTAHDAF won the 2023 International Stakes, he became the second horse in the last seven years to come via that contest.


• DUKE OF MARMALADE was the previous horse to win both races, doing so in 2008.


• The other was ULYSSES who finished third at Royal Ascot before winning the Eclipse Stakes on his next start.


• AUGUSTE RODIN won this year’s race but has since disappointed in the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes.
