Sha Tin Racecourse will host Hong Kong’s internationally-acclaimed annual racing festival – the HK$110 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races (Photo 1) – on Sunday, 11 December. Globally recognised as the “Turf World Championships”, the action on track will be complemented with an exceptional line-up of off-track entertainment befitting the day’s “Celebration of Champions” motto.
A Variety Show scheduled for 11.30am in the Parade Ring will feature spectacular performances, where popular singer Hacken Lee (Photo 2) and a hypnotic drum performance from local troupe Gekko Taiko (Photo 3, 4) will provide a pulsating prelude to the afternoon’s action.
After Race 2, all jockeys participating in the four Group 1 races will greet racing fans in the Parade Ring at the Opening Ceremony to raise the curtain on this year’s LONGINES Hong Kong International Races with the Hong Kong Police Band performing the National Anthem.
The four Group 1 races are worth a record-high HK$110 million in total and will be run on the turf track at Sha Tin Racecourse as follows:
Race 4 (2.10pm) – HK$22 million G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Vase (2400m)
Race 5 (2.50pm) – HK$24 million G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Sprint (1200m)
Race 7 (4.00pm) – HK$30 million G1 LONGINES Hong Kong Mile (1600m)

Racegoers will receive a free HKIR Cap (Photo 5) upon admission to the racecourses on the day, available while stocks last.
After Race 10, the sky at Sha Tin will light up with a spectacular futuristic pyrotechnic display (Photo 6) in honour of this year’s champions.
