No jockey has won more than one 2000 Guineas in the last five years with Frankie Dettori, Donnacha O’Brien, Kevin Manning, Oisin Murphy and James Doyle registering one success. James Doyle triumphed aboard Godolphin’s runner COROEBUS in 2022 and rode the second runner-up in 2019. Although he left Godolphin at the end of 2023 to join Wathnan Racing, he is likely to be able to choose from a number of possible rides this year given his high profile in Britain.

No favourite has been successful in the last five years with a second and a third place the best the market leader has achieved. However, horses in the first four in the betting have been responsible for four of the five winners with the second favourite winning twice. Three of the beaten favourites were trained by Aidan O’Brien and two by Charlie Appleby and in two of those races the contest was won by a stablemate.
