John Allen has a great record in the Victoria Derby with HITOTSU and EXTRA BRUT winning twice in the last 5 renewals. SUNSETS, who just defeated the Derby favourite RIFF ROCKET in the Caulfield Classic, will have him on saddle this year. It won’t be a surprise if he can collect another Derby title.

There are essentially 4 form lines taken - Caulfield Classic, Moonee Valley Vase, Geelong Classic and the Spring Champion at Randwick. In the last 20 years the most used has been the Vase with 9. APULIA, VERDAD, AIR ASSAULT and BULAWAYO, the first four in Mooney Valley Vase, will be here to fight for the Victoria Derby this year.
