The Hong Kong Jockey Club participates in the International Chinese New Year Night Parade on the first day of CNY to celebrate with the community! As we mark the 140th anniversary of the Club, this year’s “In Motion. With You.” float features 140 pinwheels symbolising the journey that we progressed together and the journey that lies ahead. After the Parade, the float goes on display at the Chinese New Year Raceday at Sha Tin Racecourse on 31 Jan. Join and take a selfie to welcome the festivities!

Special crowd safety management measures will be implemented at Sha Tin Racecourse.
- The New Year’s Variety Show Extravaganza will be held at Sha Tin Racecourse Parade Ring at 11:15 am.
- No person under age 18 is allowed into the Racecourse.
- Special crowd safety management measures will be implemented at Sha Tin Racecourse. Please follow instructions from HKJC staff.
- Limited seating in the viewing area will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Occupying or reserving seats for others is forbidden.
- For safety reasons, NO overnight queuing will be facilitated.
- The official gate opening time is 10:30am. Before the gates open, a designated public queuing zone for the Opening Performance will be set up near Entrance 1. When necessary, the Club will allow participants to enter early into a waiting area inside the Racecourse via Entrance 1, where they can enter the Parade Ring in an orderly manner.
- Racegoers with valid Members’ badges can proceed to the queuing area at the Members’ Entrance of the Multi-level Car Park bridge. When necessary, the Club will allow Members to enter early into the waiting area of the Racecourse.
- Except for the designated entrances mentioned above, there will be no early admission arrangements at other entrances.
- Anyone entering the Racecourse early must wait in the designated waiting area. Other areas and facilities in the Racecourse will not open until the official gate opening time (except for designated restrooms).
- Once the seating area in the Parade Ring is full, there will be no further access to it. Customers may enjoy the Performance through the big screen from the outdoor Forecourt area.
- Standing on staircases during performance is prohibited.
- No tripods, folding stools, ladders or other articles that may pose safety hazards are allowed in the Racecourse.
- No admission to the Members’ Enclosure is allowed aside from HKJC Members, Club staff and officials, or persons with designated badges.
- Please follow the guidance of HKJC staff and leave the Parade Ring in an orderly manner after the Performance has ended.
- For those who wish to proceed to the Parade Ring for horse viewing, please wait patiently until HKJC staff invite racegoers to enter the Parade Ring in an orderly manner.
