FWD Champions Day at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 30 April

FWD Champions Day (photo 1) is the spotlight spring international event featuring three Group 1 contests on one race day, namely the HK$25 million G1 FWD QEII Cup (2000m), HK$20 million G1 FWD Champions Mile (1600m) and HK$20 million G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m), all of which will be run at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday, 30 April. The event will give local racing fans the chance to see Hong Kong’s hero Golden Sixty chase history as the home team looks to repel a raft of talented overseas counterparts.
Racegoers will receive a designated “Portable LED Fan” (photo 2) as a gift upon admission to either Sha Tin or Happy Valley racecourses on the day before 3.30pm, available while stocks last.
A Variety Show scheduled for 11.45am in the Parade Ring will feature spectacular performances by Canto-pop star singers Kelly Chen (photo 3) and Anson Lo (photo 4) from MIRROR to get the day’s excitement going. The two stars will also give their full support to the Group 1 contests, appearing at certain trophy presentations to witness the glory of champions.
The three Group 1 races worth HK$65 million in total will be run on the turf track at Sha Tin Racecourse as follows:
Race 5 (2.50pm) – HK$20 million G1 Chairman’s Sprint Prize (1200m)
Race 7 (4.00pm) – HK$20 million G1 FWD Champions Mile (1600m)
Race 8 (4.40pm) – HK$25 million G1 FWD QEII Cup (2000m)
The Variety Show and the three Group 1 races will be broadcast live on The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s website and the following social media channels:-

Golden Sixty, Romantic Warrior, California Spangle, Lucky Sweynesse, Wellington and more of Hong Kong’s best horses will lead the charge against an outstanding group of gallopers from Australia, Great Britain, Japan and New Zealand.
Live music performances will take place in the Public Betting Hall.
Gates at Sha Tin Racecourse will open at 10.45am. Race 1 is scheduled for 12.45pm.
