Frequently run in testing conditions at the end of a long juvenile season, the form of Doncaster’s Futurity Trophy holds up surprisingly well – perhaps the long, straight track replicates the sort of unrelenting test that will be required for a true Classic hero to come to the fore. 2018 and 2019 winners MAGNA GRECIA and KAMEKO both took this on the way to Newmarket success. Last year’s winner, Godolphin’s ANCIENT WISDOM, is likely to try to emulate them.
