Arguably the first of the serious end-of-season juvenile contests, this 1400m event is usually dominated by runners from Aidan O’Brien’s Ballydoyle academy and he has won the race in seven of the last eight years. Not all of them go on as expected later in their careers but GLENEAGLES and CHURCHILL both took this on the way to 2000 Guineas success in the last decade and ANTHONY VAN DYCK won this and the Derby Stakes in 2018/19.
