Cape Town Met Day

As the climax of the summer racing season and the richest raceday in South Africa, The Cape Town Met Day always draws racing fans’ attention across the country to Kenilworth on the last Saturday of January. The Cape Town Met, featured race of the day, is also one of the three main G1 races in South Africa, alongside the Durban July and the Summer Cup.

The Hong Kong Jockey Club will simulcast ten races from the Cape Town Met Day on 27 January 2024, including all the 3 G1s on the race card, the Cape Town Met, the Cape region’s most famous middle distance contest for 3YOs and up, the Cape Flying Championship, one of the country’s major sprint races, and the Majorca Stakes for 3yo+ fillies and mares over a mile.

World Pool will be offered for The Cape Town Met Day. By gathering bets from different countries or regions, it adds liquidity, stability and smaller fluctuations in odds.
