The eagerly-anticipated 2024/25 racing season in Hong Kong commences on Sunday, 8 September at Sha Tin Racecourse.

Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses begins at 10.45am, with the first race scheduled for 12.50pm. Entrants will receive a 2024/25 Racing Calendar as a door gift upon admission to either racecourse on or before 3.30pm, while stocks last.

For the initial fixtures this Sunday and the season’s first night meeting on Wednesday, 11 September, HK$30 million mega prize will be on offer at each meeting. The Triple Trio, Six Win Bonus and Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool will each have jackpots.

The Season Opener offers a world-class racing experience with a feature race and an array of exciting off-track festivities throughout the day. Key highlights* include:

• The Class 1 HKSAR Chief Executive’s Cup, a HK$3.72 million contest run over 1200m on turf, assigned as Race 3.


• The traditional opening ceremony featuring a lion dance, eye-dotting, and a gong striking, all while the jockeys welcome the new term.


• Edan@MIRROR will hit the stage to perform after the final race in the Parade Ring at Sha Tin.# 


• The “Sha Tin Racecourse Delights” quiz game, with the first 500 participants who submit the correct answer receiving designated prizes. All eligible participants can participate in a lucky draw+. The total prizes exceed HK$1 million.


• Special food and beverage offerings are available after 4pm at Sha Tin Racecourse by simply presenting a Racecourse Catering Voucher from the Racing Calendar, including HK$10 deals on designated beverages, ice cream, popcorn, among others, while supplies last.


• The “Season Opening Trivia” Beat Challenge underneath Mezza One to challenge your sense of rhythm and gain more knowledge of racing, with the opportunity to a prize, while stocks last.
