The Champion Awards Judging Panel has elected the final nominees for The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2023/24 as follows:
As previously announced, the Sprint category takes in races at 1400m and below, a change from previous practice, as the 1400m distance is more appropriately considered a Sprint contest than a Mile or Middle distance contest.
The Judging Panel comprises three members, each from The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists.
The HKJC votes are made by the Chief Executive Officer, Mr Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges; Executive Director, Racing, Mr Andrew Harding and Head of Racing Product, Mr Greg Carpenter.
The three members from the Association of Hong Kong Racing Journalists are Chairman Mr Carlos Wu, and Committee Members Mr Bart Vanders and Mr Sam Lo.
The Judging Panel commends the connections of each of the final nominees for the excellent performances of their horses this season.
Winners of the Champion Awards will be announced at The Hong Kong Jockey Club Champion Awards 2023/24 presentation ceremony to be held on Friday, 12 July, while the results will be published on The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s website.
