Terms & Conditions
- By participating in the vote, you are deemed to have accepted and agreed with all of the terms and conditions set out below and undertake to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the course of participating in this vote. Participation in the vote (hence the lucky draw (the “Lucky Draw”)) can only be by filling in the online form on the designated website of The Hong Kong Jockey Club and submitting that form, and the participant shall bear his/her own costs for or in connection with the participation in the vote and/or Lucky Draw and/or any related matters.
- All persons are eligible to participate in the voting. However, the participants of the Lucky Draw must be at least 18 years of age, must hold valid Hong Kong Identity Card or Hong Kong travel document and provide a valid Hong Kong mobile number in order to participate in the Lucky Draw for the purpose of including but not limited to the receipt of prize notification. The registered name of the participant must be the same as shown on his/her Hong Kong Identity Card or Hong Kong travel document. All prize winners will be required to present their Hong Kong Identity Card or Hong Kong travel document for verification upon prize collection.
- Non-Hong Kong Identity Card or Non-Hong Kong travel document holder will be disqualified from participating in the Lucky Draw. The Hong Kong Jockey Club reserves the right to verify the eligibility of all participants.
- If multiple votes have been found to be cast under the same registered name in English and mobile phone number, only the first vote will be considered valid.
- There are two voting categories, namely, the Most Popular Horse of the Year and the Most Popular Jockey of the Year. The jockey / horse with the highest number of votes in each category will be named the Most Popular Horse of the Year and the Most Popular Jockey of the Year (as the case may be). For the avoidance of doubt, to participate in the Lucky Draw, (a) each participant must vote in all two categories to be eligible, and (b) each prize winner is not required to have voted the title winning jockey / horse.
- The voting period is from June 18, 2025 12:00 noon to July 4, 2025 11:59pm. Voting forms submitted after voting period has ended will not be accepted. If a participant has chosen more than one horse and/or more than one jockey in one of the voting categories, and/or failed to submit a vote for all two voting categories, the vote submission will be voided, will not be used for vote counting, and will not be eligible to participate in the Lucky Draw.
- Proof of dispatch of the vote by the participant cannot be accepted as proof of submission of any entry. The Hong Kong Jockey Club does not accept responsibility for any loss, damage, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorized access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside its control, or any other loss howsoever caused.
- Upon determination of the result of the Lucky Draw on July 8, 2025, a reserve list of winners will be drawn on the same day. The list of winners of the Lucky Draw will be announced on July 15, 2025 on the page for Most Popular Horse & Jockey www.hkjc.com/mphj and in Sing Tao Daily and The Standard. The announcement will be made for fulfilment of duty owed by licensee of Trade Promotion Competition Licence only, and shall in no event indicate or suggest any second round of the Lucky Draw or any re-draw.
- Winners will be notified individually on or before July 22, 2025 by SMS and given details of prize collection. The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall not be responsible for any loss or damage arising from failure or delay in transmission of the SMS notification for prize redemption. The record of sending the SMS notification (whether by The Hong Kong Jockey Club or its service provider) to winners shall constitute a valid proof of successful transmission.
- Prizes must be redeemed in person at the designated locations within the designated period of time only. No prize will be granted after the designated prize collection period. All prize winners are required to present their original Hong Kong Identity Card or travel document for verification purposes, participant under 18 years of age, and non-HKID or non-Hong Kong Travel Document holder shall be disqualified. The opportunity of disqualified winner will be awarded to the backup winner from the reserve list. Redemption by delegates is not allowed. The exact redemption venue for each prize together with the collection period will be announced on The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s website www.hkjc.com/mphj on July 15, 2025 along with the list of winners.
- Prizes and/or SMS text messages cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash.
- If a winner fails to redeem the prize according to Clause 10 above, the prize(s) will be forfeited automatically without notice. Under no circumstance shall any winner or any person have any claim or action whatsoever against The Hong Kong Jockey Club relating to this Promotion.
- The Hong Kong Jockey Club reserves the right to use any recorded footages and/or photos of winners for promotional and/or record purpose of this Lucky Draw (including without limitation, organisation of any other activity in connection with this Lucky Draw and/or the subject matter thereof).
- All participants confirm that they have read and understood The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s Privacy Policy Statement at http://www.hkjc.com/english/corporate/corp_privacy.asp, and further agrees that The Hong Kong Jockey Club may use his/her personal data (a) in the course of and/or for the purpose of this activity, (b) for publishing the results of the Lucky Draw in the notice as specified in Clause 8 above, and/or (c) for market analysis purposes.
- To the maximum extent permitted by laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Club do not accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any damage or loss, death or personal injury arising from or in connection with the use or enjoyment of any of the prizes. The use and enjoyment of the designated Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses catering coupon by the winner is subject to the relevant terms and conditions. Further, the actual appearance or colour of the prizes may differ from what is shown in the photos.
- The prize must be enjoyed on designated date and time and at designated location, subject to applicable terms and conditions. If a winner is unable to enjoy the prize on the designated date and time and at the designated location, the winner shall be deemed to have given up his/her prize. The Club will not provide any compensation.
- Prizes cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash, and are not for resale purposes whether with the intent to make profit or not.
- Entrants must take care of and be responsible for their own personal belongings and safety. To the maximum extent permitted by laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall neither be responsible nor pay any compensation for the loss or damage to any property nor injury or death sustained by entrants.
- The vote, the Lucky Draw and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Each participant is fully responsible for ensuring that his or her participating in the vote and/or the Lucky Draw is lawful in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall not be taken to make any representations, express or implied, as to the lawfulness of any participation. In the event of any dispute, the decision of The Hong Kong Jockey Club shall be final.
- Both the participants and The Hong Kong Jockey Club agree and acknowledge that (1) they do not intend any term of these Terms and Conditions to be enforceable by any third party pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623); and (2) these Terms and Conditions shall be excluded from the application of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance.
- These Terms and Conditions are drafted in English and translated into Chinese and are available on The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s website www.hkjc.com/mphj. In submitting their votes, each participant acknowledges and agrees that he/she has read and understood these Terms and Conditions and that he/she is fully aware of the rights and obligations arising therefrom. In the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the English version shall prevail.
