“Best Dressed Award” Terms & Conditions

• By participating in this competition, you are deemed to have accepted and agreed to these terms and conditions.
• All participants must feature blue elements in their outfits and submit full-body photo to be eligible to compete for the “Best Dressed Award” (Public Segment).
• Each participant of the “Best Dressed Award” (Public Segment) (as determined by the registered mobile phone number) may only participate for one time, and is only eligible to receive a maximum of one gift. Each participant (as determined by the registered mobile phone number) can only participate in one of the “Best Dressed Award” (Member Segment) and the “Best Dressed Award” (Public Segment), and only the entry submitted earlier in time will be counted and the participant will be considered as participating in that segment of the activity only. The Hong Kong Jockey Club (the “Club”) reserves the right to verify the eligibility of the participants, and participants in breach of the requirement will be disqualified.
• All participants who upload photos on or before the required deadline (19 January 2025 at 3:00pm) through the designated campaign website and submit the requisite information in accordance with the relevant instructions will be eligible to participate in this competition. Late entries will not be accepted.
• The Club will select a total three participants who dressed the best as the winners of the competition (Public Segment) to receive the designated prizes. The competition will be judged by a panel of judges appointed by the Club in accordance with the most coherent outfit to the theme of Gentlemen’s Raceday. All participants mustfeature blue elements in their outfits and submit full-body photo to qualify for the “Best Dressed Award”, and the decision of the Club shall be final.
• The winners will receive a prize redemption through phone call on or before 19 January 2025 at 17:00. The winners will be notified in accordance with the above instructions. If a winner fails to answer the call after three attempts or fails to redeem the prize in person in accordance with the instructions, they will be forfeited automatically without notice and compensation.
• Racecourse entrants and participants of this competition must be aged 18 or above.
• The prize cannot be redeemed for cash. Prizes are not for re-sale purpose whether with the intent to make a profit or not.
• Entry time and record are recorded by the computer system of the Club and/or its service provider, and the record of the Club and/or its service provider shall be final and conclusive. Any entry that is made after the deadline of submission will not be accepted. Proof of dispatch cannot be accepted as proof of submission of any entry. Neither the Club nor its service provider accepts any liability or responsibility for any loss, damage, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft, destruction, alteration of, or unauthorised access to entries, or entries lost or delayed whether or not arising during operation or transmission as a result of server functions, virus, bugs or other causes outside of its control, or any other loss howsoever caused.
• Staff of the Club, co-organisers or advertising agencies engaged for promotion of the competition are not eligible to participate in this competition.
• Participants shall ensure that the entries they submitting do not infringe any intellectual property right or other rights of any third party. By participating in this competition, you agree that the Club may use the photos submitted by the participants in this competition for promotion or marketing purposes. You acknowledge that the Club may make any alteration of any such photos, and you are deemed to have waive all moral rights in respect of the photos you submitted.
• Participants must not submit, send or transmit any information or material (including but not limited to content and photo) that is illicit, insulting, defamatory, discriminatory, offensive, vulgar, obscene, pornographic, or contains indecent elements, foul language, any other unlawful elements or elements that would incite a crime, personal attacks, commercial advertising or content that may infringe intellectual property or privacy of others (collectively, “Unacceptable Contents”). The Club reserves the right to remove any information or material which it considers to be Unacceptable Contents as aforesaid and disqualify the relevant participants without prejudice to the remedies or relief available to the Club under the law.
• Each participant expressly confirms that he/she has read and understood the Privacy Policy Statement of the Club, which is available on https://www.hkjc.com/home/english/corporate/corp_privacy.aspx, on spot or provided upon request) , and agrees that his/her personal data collected from this competition can be used by the Club in the course of and/or for the purpose of this competition (including notification).
• Photos and videos may be taken by the Club during the activity. Such photos and video footages may be used by the Club for promotion or marketing purposes. Participants may be identified in such photos and video footages. In case of any objection, please submit a written notification to the Club.
• The Club is not the manufacturer of the prizes. The Club does not accept any liability for the quality of the prizes and does not accept any responsibility or liability whatsoever for any damage, loss, death or personal injury arising from or in connection with the prizes. Any dispute arising from the use and enjoyment of any of the prizes shall be resolved between the winner and the supplier directly. The actual appearance or colour of the prizes may differ from what is shown in the photos.
• Entrants must take care of and be responsible for their own personal belongings and safety. To the maximum extent permitted by laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Club shall neither be responsible nor pay any compensation for the loss or damage to any property nor injury or death sustained by entrants.
• Both the participant and the Club agree and acknowledge that (1) they do not intend any term of these Terms and Conditions to be enforceable by any third party pursuant to the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap 623); and (2) these Terms and Conditions shall be excluded from the application of the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance.
• Participants undertake to comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the course of participating in the competition. The competition and these Terms and Conditions shall be governed in all respects by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. Each participant is fully responsible for ensuring that his or her participating in the competition is lawful in accordance with the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region and any other applicable laws. The Club shall not be taken to make any representations, express or implied, as to the lawlessness of any participation.
• The Club reserves the sole and all right to make decisions relating to the activity, and may cancel, postpone or modify any content of the activity (including but not limited venue, date or time, performance or other activities, entry requirements, gift, discount or other offerings) or amend the relevant terms and conditions, at any time without notice, and without liability for refund, compensation or otherwise. In cases of dispute, the decision of the Club shall be final.
• In the event of any inconsistency between the Chinese and the English versions, the English version shall prevail.
