Stars will shine at Sha Tin for BMW Hong Kong Derby

The HK$24 million BMW Hong Kong Derby (2000m), the third and final leg of the Four-Year-Old Classic Series, takes place on 19 March (Sunday) at Sha Tin Racecourse. This year’s edition promises to be an exciting and unforgettable experience for all racegoers to witness the local circuit’s rising stars compete for the ultimate once-in-a-lifetime prize.
Racecourse entrants will receive a specially designed BMW Hong Kong Derby cap (photo 1), available at both Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses upon admission before 3.30pm, while stocks last. The cap is the perfect accessory and souvenir to commemorate the 2023 BMW Hong Kong Derby.
Aside from the racing entertainment, renowned singer Gin Lee (photo 2) will heat up the Parade Ring at the Opening Variety Show with a dazzling live performance at 12:10pm.
Actor Donnie Yen (photo 3) will be at Sha Tin Racecourse, returning as this year’s BMW Hong Kong Derby Ambassador. Yen will also present souvenirs to the winning connections at the trophy presentation ceremony for the BMW Hong Kong Derby.
The title sponsor, BMW Concessionaires (HK) Ltd, will exhibit a collection of their fine automobiles in the Parade Ring and Public Forecourt, Sha Tin Racecourse. Fans are welcome to snap photos and check out the latest models.
The BMW Hong Kong Derby is run on turf over 2000 metres as Race 8 at 4:40pm. Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses will commence at 11am with the first race scheduled to run at 1pm.
