Sha Tin Racecourse 40th Anniversary Raceday

Opened in 1978, Sha Tin Racecourse is one of the world’s leading racecourses. Over the past four decades, it has developed strong bonds with the Sha Tin community, hosting many community and world-class events.

To celebrate Sha Tin Racecourse’s 40th anniversary, The Hong Kong Jockey Club will offer special programmes and exciting entertainment at the Sha Tin Racecourse 40th Anniversary Raceday on 29 December.

Opening Ceremony

Celebrate with Elite Athletes

The Hong Kong Sports Institute, close by Sha Tin Racecourse, is an important training centre for elite athletes who represent Hong Kong on the world stage. The construction of the Institute was partially funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Demonstrating their skills at the Opening Ceremony of the Sha Tin Racecourse 40th Anniversary Raceday on 29 December will be Ms Grace Lau Mo-sheung, the first Hong Kong Karatedo athlete to win a medal at the World Championships, and Ms Juanita Mok Uen-ying, silver medallist in Women's Taijiquan & Taijijian all round at the 2018 Asian Games.
