Gentlemen’s Raceday (Photo 1) is set to deliver a racing extravaganza at Sha Tin Racecourse on Sunday (19 January). Spearheaded by two Group 1 races, racegoers are invited to dress to impress with a stylish outfit in blue elements to participate in the Best Dressed Award contest (Photo 2) for a chance to win exquisite prizes#. Ambassador Louis Koo is one of the judges and will be on hand to present awards to the top three winners on the day.

Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses commences at 10.30am with the first race at Sha Tin scheduled for 12.30pm. Headlining the day is the HK$13 million G1 Centenary Sprint Cup (1200m) at 3pm and HK$13 million G1 Stewards’ Cup (1600m) at 4.05pm.

The Centenary Sprint Cup kicks off the three-race Hong Kong Speed Series, while the Stewards’ Cup is the first leg of Hong Kong’s Triple Crown.

HK$500 million top-up jackpots in prize for grabs
The Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool will be topped up with jackpots from the Operator Reserve, totaling HK$3 million, which will be allocated to two Group 1 races, Race 6 and Race 8, with each race carrying a jackpot of HK$1.5 million. A jackpot of HK$2 million will be also offered to the 5th Double Trio and the dividend for a single HK$10 winning unit could reach an estimated HK$12 million.

All betting pools for the “Gentlemen’s Raceday” will go on sale from noon on Saturday, 18 January.

In addition to the world-class racing action, Gentlemen’s Raceday offers a range of vibrant activities to make for a day of fun at Sha Tin. Highlights include:

• Popular singer Gin Lee (Photo 3) takes the stage with an opening performance in Sha Tin’s Parade Ring at 11.30am.

• Local star singers Cath Wong, Lagchun and Michael C bring live music in between races in the Public Betting Hall beneath Mezza One.

• A delightful selection of international culinary delights will be offered at Trackside Kiosk 2 in Sha Tin’s Public Betting Hall.

• “Sha Tin Racecourse Delights” quiz for a chance to win a designated pair of gentleman and lady horse keychains^.
