Giovanni cantered on the all-weather track, with trainer Haruki Sugiyama on board, for half a lap.
Trainer Sugiyama said: “Since yesterday’s work was done only in the trotting ring, I took him to the all-weather track this morning. As expected, he was edgy and tended to pull the bit, but he was energetic and powerful, and trying hard to run. We hope he will settle and respond better tomorrow.”
June Take
June Take exercised in the paddock ring and cantered for a lap and a half on the all-weather track.
The assistant to Hidenori Take, Kaname Ogino, said: “He felt really good, and everything has gone smoothly so far.”
Masquerade Ball
Masquerade Ball warmed up in the trotting ring and cantered for a lap and a half on the all-weather track.
The assistant to Takahisa Tezuka, Shinichi Okada said: “The horse appeared to have recovered from transport fatigue compared to the previous days, which allowed me to ask him a bit more today. He was settled well when he walked in the paddock, which was a good thing.”
