The Hong Kong Jockey Club will participate in the annual International Chinese New Year Night Parade for the 24th consecutive year on the first day of the Year of the Pig (5 February). Themed with traditional Chinese lucky knots, our float "Celebrate a Prosperous Year Hand in Hand" will roam the prosperous streets of the city, following the lead of a shimmering galloping horse. The uniquely designed lucky knots on the float not only are an auspicious symbol, but also signify the Club’s commitment in bringing unity across communities and generations. The Club is always "riding high together for a better future" with Hong Kong people, and wishes people of all ages and backgrounds a happy new year ahead.
This season also marks the 40th anniversary of Sha Tin Racecourse. To celebrate its four decades of legacy, this year’s float will be decorated with 40 lucky knots. 40 performers in costumes decorated with knots made by 40 volunteers across generations, will participate in the parade and wow the crowd with dance performance and lion dance. They will be joined by the Club’s "Progressing Together Cheering Team" in Chinese New Year outfits to wish everyone a joyous year ahead!
