She began riding in 2013, and since then has won 10 Group 1 races before becoming Great Britain’s most successful female jockey by surpassing Hayley Turner with a 1,023rd British winner at Ascot in May, 2025.

Doyle has participated five times in Happy Valley’s LONGINES International Jockeys’ Championship (IJC), finishing second twice and third once. She is known for associations with European Group 1 winners Nashwa, Bradsell, Glen Shiel and Trueshan.

“I’ve been very lucky to have been invited to the (LONGINES) IJC previously, so I’ve had a good taste of Hong Kong racing,” Doyle said.

“You have to adapt very quickly to the different jurisdictions. I’m lucky to have travelled the world and got used to doing that now, but obviously it’s always very different here in Hong Kong – it’s tactical, it’s tight and sharp.”

Doyle’s licence in Hong Kong runs until 23 December, encompassing the HK$130 million LONGINES Hong Kong International Races on 14 December. November and December are quiet enough back home, so it’s the time of year I have been going away for the last few years, and it’s worked out quite well,” Doyle said. “I have a seven-week contract, and I am looking forward to being here for a little bit longer.

Doyle appeared at trackwork this morning (Tuesday, 4 November) at Sha Tin, and rode in one barrier trial.

“I did a few routine canters on a few of my runners for tomorrow. I have seven rides with support from a range of trainers, which is quite nice to see and hopefully I can get some good results,” Doyle said.

Ricky Yiu’s Victory Sky (119lb) lines up in the Class 3 Hanshin Handicap (1650m), seeking a first win following seven placings from 14 starts in Hong Kong.

“Victory Sky would probably be my best ride on the evening. He’s up to 1650 (metres), which could bring about a bit more improvement. We have a nice draw (three), so I hope he can get his head in front,” Doyle said.

Championship-leading Zac Purton reunites with Bienvenue (127lb) from barrier six in the Class 3 Nakayama Handicap (1200m) for trainer David Hayes. Australian Racing Hall of Famer Purton has won twice atop the Star Turn speedster.

“He ran well (last start). He got out of the gates nicely, he was there and he was beaten by a horse (Kyrus Dragon) who just had a softer run. The tempo there (at Happy Valley) seems to suit him a little bit better, he can be slightly aggressive in the run,” Purton said.

Michael Chang has three wins from his past six runners. The trainer is aiming to extend his winning run when Always My Folks (133lb) features in the Class 5 Niigata Handicap (1000m) from barrier one with jockey Karis Teetan.

“I have changed his gear this time. I have put the blinkers on to make him concentrate more and put him back to 1000 (metres) – no tactics, just jump and go,” Chang said.

Wednesday’s (5 November) nine-race fixture at Happy Valley begins at 6.40pm with the Class 5 Chukyo Handicap (2200m).
