Hong Kong’s signature Lucky Start 2026 Raceday will be staged at Sha Tin Racecourse on Thursday (1 January). A full day of thrilling races, rewarding surprises, and racecourse entertainment awaits residents and tourists. HK$128 million is on offer to celebrate the New Year, while the Lucky Start Raceday features a grand jackpot worth a total of HK$28 million. Be where new blessings begin!
HK$128 million mega prizes welcome 2026
To mark the New Year, a mega jackpot worth a total of HK$128 million will be up for grabs on 1 and 3 January 2026. A jackpot of HK$10 million has been accumulated for Lucky Start 2026 Raceday’s Triple Trio and the dividend for a single HK$10 winning unit could reach an estimated HK$20 million.
Topped up from the Operator Reserve, a jackpot of HK$1 million will be offered for the first Double Trio pool, and the dividend for a single HK$10 winning unit could reach an estimated HK$6 million.
The Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool will be topped up from the Jackpot Reserve with jackpots totaling HK$2 million, which will be allocated to the G3 race – Chinese Club Challenge Cup (Handicap) (Race 8) and Race 11, with each race carrying a jackpot of HK$500,000 and HK$1.5 million respectively.
While the Mark Six New Year Snowball, with the First Dividend Prize Fund reaching an estimated HK$100 million, will be held on 3 January, 2026. Tickets are available across all betting channels.
An array of entertainment on offer at Sha Tin
Admission to Sha Tin and Happy Valley Racecourses commences at 10.30am with the first race at Sha Tin scheduled for 12.30pm. All Sha Tin and Happy Valley entrants will receive a designated Lucky Start tote bag * before 3.30pm or while stocks last. The 11-race event is headlined by the HK$4.2 million G3 Chinese Club Challenge Cup Handicap (1400m), scheduled as Race 8 at 4.05pm.
Take part in the Luck Catcher Quiz Challenge held underneath Mezza One at Sha Tin for a chance to win a designated Champion Horse Pen (limited to 500 pieces), while stocks last. #
Participate in the “Sha Tin Racecourse Delights” quiz for a chance to win a “Ka Ying Rising” Horseshoe Commemorative Artwork. Open the “Classic 3-in-1” app, log in to your account and access the game. The first 12 participants to submit the correct answer by 4.15pm in accordance with the terms and conditions receive a designated “Ka Ying Rising” Horseshoe Commemorative Artwork, while the following 500 participants will receive a designated “Racing Buddies” keychain. ^
